What's the difference between vegetarian and vegan?

Gus Leiby: vegetarians dont eat meat or fish but most eat eggs and have dairy productsa vegan does not eat anything from an animal like honey, milk, yogert ect. so yes they can have cheese

Stan Conley: Vegetarians do not eat the products of slaughter - no meat, no gelatin, no lard, no foods made with meat broth, etc.Vegans do not eat, wear or otherwise consume any products made from animal ingredients, whether or not the animal had to die for it. So, no meat, dairy, eggs, honey, leather, silk, wool, feathers, fur, or rendered animal bits (which are surprisingly everywhere, including your shampoo and toothpaste.) They also avoid products tested on animals and industries that exploit animals for entertainment, like circuses....Show more

Emile Midgley: Vegetarians don't eat meat, but vegans don't eat meat or poultry.

Giovanna Cramblit: Vegetarians : No meat, fish, gelatin.Vegans : No meant, fish, gelatin, dairy, egg, honey, or animal products.

Seaso! n Confalone: vegetarians dont eat meat products. vegans do not eat anything made or produced from animals including milk, cheese etc.

Salvatore Walls: Vegetarians don't eat meat. some of them continue to eat chicken and fish and still call themselves "vegetarian"!Vegans eat no meat, eggs, milk, or anything containing animal ingredients, such as casein, gelatin, and whey. Vegans don’t wear leather, fur, or wool, buy products from companies that conduct non-required animal toxicity tests:http://www.caringconsumer.com/pdfs/compa...Or frequent zoos, rodeos, circuses, or other places where animals are held in captivity or forced to perform....Show more

Vern Serratos: vegetarians dont eat any kind of meat. vegans do not eat meat or anything that comes from an animal basically.hope this helps?

Alonso Crehan: Vegetarians do not eat any meat products, but they eat dairy products and eggs. Vegetarians need to know whether a product contains gelatine or other meat-! based products. Vegans do not consume any animal products, as ! in they don't eat meat eggs or poultry, they don't drink milk, etc.

Hal Rouse: vegitarians dont eat meat vegans wont eat meat or dairy products or ANYTHING than comes from an animal weather it harms the animal or not they also wont use unnatural hair products or leather u get the point

Valentine Willinger: Here's a more streamlined answer for you. There are a couple types of vegetarians. Lacto-ovo vegetarians are the most common. They eat no meat, poultry, no fish (people somehow forget this), but eat dairy and eggs.Lacto-vegetarians eat no meat, fish, or poultry, or eggs, but eat dairy.Ovo-vegetarians eat no meat, fish, poultry or dairy, but eat eggs. A vegan is someone who does not consume ANY animal products AND who does not wear and use any products that have been tested on animals or have animal ingredients or by products in them. Some are iffy on the subject, but this includes honey, casein (found in cheese), whey, leather, wool, and the like. A person who ! eats NO animal products but still buys cleaning products, lotions, perfumes, clothes, etc that contain animal products and sources are what I call "strict vegetarians". Being a vegan isn't just a diet, it's a complete lifestyle. If you're considering going vegan, read up on it first. Research recipes, vitamins, places you'll have to go to buy vegan products (cleaning, clothes, etc) and talk with other vegans to get more information....Show more
