Lia Argall: Sell it, and get something that wont break down as soon as you fix it.
Seema Hosfeld: GO BUY A NEW CAR ,YES NEW NOT SOME USED PIECE OF JUNK
Carli Watterson: Trade it in or sell it. From my experience with Nissan's you'll end up putting a lot more then $1,000 into that vehicle!
Boris Hadsall: fix it yourself. suspension is easy to work on. i guarantee it would cost you 300 bucks including tools and maybe a day of your time.
Russel Gajate: I would sell. more costly repairs will come your way.
Hipolito Rightmire: That's an old debate many have had before you...What condition is the rest of the vehicle in? Has it been a reliable vehicle? If other repairs will soon be necessary, now be the time to ditch it. But if it has been reliable and everything else is in good working order, it may be worth the $1 G investment to keep it road-worthy.
Fannie Collingwood: Sometimes you have to think about it like this: if you invest X amou! nt of money in the car, how long will it last you before it may need some other repair. At some point, you need to set the limit on how much you want to spend for this current car. Any repair beyond the limit you have set, means you need to sell the car. Its a tough decision, I know, but sometimes a good mechanic can make u some good recommendations as long as he is not trying to sell you one of his cars !...Show more
Sammy Hatzenbihler: Look at this way, once you have fixed the suspension, it will last another 10 years or so. If that's the only repair you have to make this year, the truck will cost you just $1000 to own for a year ($20 a week). A new-ish car will easily lose that just in depreciation (which is the biggest cost in vehicle ownership) even if it is mechanically perfect. If you change the truck, what will you get? Another similar age vehicle with similar wear and age related problems? If you buy near new, the problems go away but depreciation is a lot m! ore. The newer the vehicle, the fewer the problems but the gre! ater the depreciation. Owning an old vehicle is an art, you sacrifice maintenance and time for cost. If your vehicle is generally in good order, and you don't mind giving it some regular love, then go with the repair. If you can't be bothered or the truck has had it, then go with a new(er) vehicle but remember nothing in life is for free....Show more
