Arleen Bussing: Preferably inflate with something lighter than water. Waving your hands around trying to waft air into the inflatable boat will likely not get you anywhere. I suggest using a pump, motorized if you can get one especially if the inflatable boat is large.

Todd Stogner: There are foot pumps to inflate the boat at Wal-Mart. Then there are also Double Action hand pumps. These pump air in both directions to speed up the process. Finally there are electric and battery powered pumps too. All have advantages and disadvantages. I have a foot pump and the double action pump.

Arnulfo Seegars: My Zodiac came with a foot pump. I also have a small air compressor, but the foot pump is so easy, to get out and stow away - I use the foot pump.
