Tomi Vauters: Texas is a community property state and therefore any property that is acquired after marriage is community property. So you had better have the cash from that sold car or be able to get that car back because you are looking at splitting it. In most states that are community property, there is a temporary order when you file that advises you not to sell or give away or destroy ANY property until the divorce is final.
