Jonathon Labonne: Personally I stay away from Craigslist for big purchases - too many scammers. I would recommend Autotrader, Cars.com, AutoMart or even Ebaymotors. Ebay might sound risky, but they offer protection for a portion of what the car sells for
Nikita Schroepfer: Only accept cash or a direct wire transfer as payment. Do not have any dealing with shipping except being there for the transport driver when they come for the car. Anyone who offers a check or other payment method and wants to include a payment to be given to the shipper is a scammer.
Glynda Darrin: First, if you are asking what i think you're asking and someone is inferring they want the car "shipped", ...STOP. No one buys a used car sight unseen and pays the kind of money it would cost to ship it when they can certainly buy a vehicle where they are. Unless of course you selling something rare to maybe a collector. That being said, if you want to sell your car to a private buyer, firs! t try calling your bank to see if they will facilitate your transaction. Have the seller meet you at the bank with cash or a cashiers check, and have your banker verify the funds before withdrawing the title from your banks depository....Show more
Booker Moros: No, it is a scam... In person only /cash. In the event they say are getting loan from a bank. Tell them the only way you would do this is if you go to the bank with them and get the check.. A scammer will not reply, legit people will say OK..------------------The scammers will mail you check and you go to the bank and cash/deposit it. A few days later the bank calls and tells you it was a bad check... You have no money and no car..Plus owe the bank fee's.........Show more
Elva Batie: Never accept anything but cash from someone on Craigslist. It is always a scam. I would put "cash only" in the listing, and if you get an email asking you to accept a check or money order then do not even respond to it! . I have a few people try to do this on things I sold on ther! e.
