Toby Caswell: The best and cheapest thing you can do is insulate better. This can be done with a remodel, or new. The thing about letting those old homes go is, they go to the landfill.
Heidi Creselious: Well in all honestly, the "greener" thing to do would be to reuse the existing structure and remodel it to be more energy efficient. This is because less energy is used to convert and existing structure than to build new.It will also be cheaper, however the headache will be bigger.I highly recommend, better insulation, radiant barrier, better windows and or window energy film.
