Alternative Medicine?

Freeman Rutkin: If you notice everywhere you look people have their opinion and do not want to believe ANYTHING that has anything to do with anything outside THEIR opinion. Many people only go by what they heard the media or 'the experts' say. I wouldn't give a pile of goop for a lot of what 'the experts' say.Go for what works for you and they can go take their meds. see who ends up actually healthier. Don't worry what they say.If your therapy isn't working you can always change your mind and go to the doc and get on the meds. They on the other hand are stuck with their ONLY way....Show more

Augustus Sarria: They don't think you're lying. They just think the benifits you gain from the thing are psychological (i.e. placebo) not physiological.

Chi Alfero: It isn't really society being resistant to change, it is allopathy, and then society believing that the MDs have no motive or anything to gain by telling them alternatives don't work. When in reality allopathy! , AMA, and pharmaceutical companies have everything to gain by keeping people in the dark that alternatives work. They have even launched internet websites to "debunk" alternatives - they are called "quackbusters". And, alternative practitioners have launched websites to debunk the debunking websites. They like to call themselves "quackpot busters," It all gets quite snarled and tangled, with a lot of useless, non-productive arguing back and forth! In my opinion, if you know it works, pass on the word!! If someone doesn't believe you, it is ultimately their loss, since they have believed something helpful cannot help. In the end, if they need the treatment and do not use it because of the quackbuster campaign against alternative medicine, it is very sad indeed. We need to keep spreading the word that alternatives work! They have for us for years, even for our animals. We gave Allopathy and phara cos the youth of our lives, and learned valuable lessons about what not to! do. We'll still see an MD if we have internal injuries that ! require immediate intervention, or a broken bone. But, we trust our longevity to alternative medicine, healthy diet, and lifestyle. In the end, you know it is working for you! That is what is important. And the suggestion to consider diet wasn't a bad one either....Show more

Fannie Collingwood: shock therapy has been around for a while, it used to be used to treat schizophrenia but it didnt work, but for some reason it can help depression

Elfreda Grossen: That sounds like ignorance. My friend, a psychiatrist is both involved in alternative medicine and traditional medicine. Electroshock therapy is considered standard of care in traditional medical medicine in our local hospitals here. So, that sounds odd that someone would doubt you, unless they've never heard of this practice as being a common medical practice.Oh well... I get why and how it works. Its a gentle current in small pulses in succession to cause regions of the brain to forget or to not release ! or trigger peptides that trigger depression.Next, I would recommend you look up nutritional deficiencies and depression and look into physical activity to keep your results permanent and consistent, because one cannot rely on electroshock therapy as a permanent treatment. It is a treatment, as the word implies... So, the rest is up to you in health and balance in the body and brain....Show more

Annabell Bevier: A lot fo people don't know or understand Alternative Medicine, and because that is what the Dr's tell them, and that's what they believe, because he's the Dr. They have Been programed to believe the Dr...
