You might be thinking of a once-a-week co-op sort of opportunity within some homeschooling circles, and there are a very few "hybrid" schools out there where you attend classes twice a week and do the rest of your work at home. Christopher Calcano: Some public schools offer "independent study". You check in once or twice a week, are given assignments, go home and do them. You don't attend classes. My local school district, and several others near me offer this option. You might check with your district offices to see if it offers it. It isn't the same as independent home schooling, legally you are a pupil of the public school, but you are working at home. Better to call it independent study or say you are schooled at home. This is kind of an issue of semantics, because every state has different rules, and the definition of "homeschooling" varies. In some, you are required to register as a private school if you're homeschooled, sometimes you must register under an umbrella school, so technically all students there are either publicly or privately schooled. Verena Koop: All children in America are legally allowed to do homeschooling if that is what their parents want. The schools have no say in it, but only the state laws need to be followed.With your parents, you can find and/or buy materials to use for your homeschooling. Then your parents can work with your as needed.
