Ginny Trickett: A myth is a story that a culture tells to explain who they are and how they and the world came to be. Every culture in history has had a myth, from the Greeks to the Mayans to the modern cultures today. Myth isn't really concerned with fact--it's about Truth (which is often not the same thing). Humanities are those things that concern humans--art, history, philosophy, religion, anthropology, archaeology, etc. In the study of humanities, one often deals with myths, as part of what it means to be human, and how humans have tried to make sense of the world around them....Show more
