Gladys Worthing: You will need to audition. If you contact the performing arts high schools in New South Wales or the one you want (if you have one in mind -Mcdonalds?) they will tell you about their audition criteria. You can look at the websites of course. Any of the performing arts schools will want you to have good academic results from your current school. The reason for that is that they spend a lot of time on the music/dance/acting and you need to be good at school to keep up with the normal school subjects at the same time. Their reputation depends on their students achieving well academically as well as in the arts. You must go to the audition well presented with good references from music teachers or others who can say how committed you are. If you haven't done community theatre or school theatre you should do that as soon as possible. It will help if you have music theory knowledge or singing/other instrument experience. They want talent, yes, but they ne! ed proof of ongoing commitment. If you haven't studied or experienced anything in the music/acting/dancing line that will mean that you have to rely purely on a fantastic audition - very tricky! They will also ask you what you want to achieve at the school. I would start researching what these schools want and then go from there. Work hard for your dream and best of luck....Show more
